Lake Macquarie U3A’s Membership and Enrolment system provides for a traditional postal form application though this is subordinate to a proprietary online application hybrid.
The system separates the database itself from the forms used to apply for membership, change membership details, or to apply for course enrolment. Online forms operate within the ‘Google Forms’ development environment. They are therefore at the greatest possible level of security and privacy yet are simple and efficient to use by members and administration. They do not require a username, password or email address. Submissions are downloaded to a local LMU3A computer then automatically processed into a comprehensively functioned ‘Microsoft Access’ database operated from within a fully secure and private ‘cloud’ environment under ‘Microsoft OneDrive’.
